Evan J. Roitenberg, LLB

Evan Roitenberg has been practising law since 1992 and is deeply committed to protecting the rights of the accused and equally committed to the advancement of the legal profession.
Evan has been involved in numerous high-profile and precedent-setting cases and has defended thousands of clients facing charges of murder, drug trafficking, robbery, complex frauds, money laundering, arson, assault, DUI’s, and all manner of driving and property offences. He has defended clients in Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Evan is routinely sought after to lecture and present in the area of advocacy skills, with an emphasis on the art of cross-examination. He is called upon frequently to lecture at the Universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg, and is a Learning Group Facilitator in Advocacy for the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education.

Outside of Law
Evan is an actor and singer who has appeared in 13 Manitoba Bar Association co-productions to raise funds for the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. He routinely volunteers his time as a board member to numerous community organizations, and as a frontline volunteer to organizations combatting poverty.
